The pinkish-red bark, and cup-shaped to hemispherical fruit with a raised disc and valves above the rim, and location, points towards Eucalyptus rubida subsp. rubida (Candlebark).

E rubida is certainly in this area; I had discounted it because the ID info I have says that the bottom of the trunk has rough bark much like E viminalis. We have a local "guide to visitors, eucalypts in reserve", I suspect I need to identify all of the eucalypts we actually have and arrange the guide based on proper keys.

Retained bark varies a bit in this species. Can also have non-shedding shaggy bark on lower trunk and sometimes ribbons that partly fall off the trunk. In those individuals a lot of bark litter accumulates. Also the inflorescence is in 3s.
