I don't remember the fruit very well, it was quite some time ago. But I have vague recollections of it being quite large relative to its miniscule flowers, perhaps large marble size. It may have had a rough surface and just 1 seed per fruit. As said, my imagination my be filling in some of memory's blank spaces!! Does any of that fit with your thoughts? Apologies for late reply, only just found this comment, and I've been a bit off the air lately.
