@Tapirlord that was my original thought too! Although there are various reports on the internet and in print ( Kirkpatrick, J.B. and Backhouse, S.(1981). Native Trees of Tasmania) of L.scoparium reaching heights over 15m. TAS also has a limited collection of trees with papery bark, almost exclusively Myrtaceae > of which only only 3 species reach heights over 10m > only one of which has an distribution range covering the Styx Valley. So though the art of deduction, (and a little help from my professor) i've settled on L.scoparium. But yes the lack of any other ID evidence leaves a lot to guessing sorry.

Leptospermum scoparium
