User's notes

Aseroe rubra is an extraordinary fungus that emerges from an ‘egg,’ resembles a starfish and produces a foul smelling spore-containing brown substance that attracts flies and other insects, which involuntarily assist with spore dispersal. Recherche bay in Tasmania was the first place where this species was found and described.
